Mission

The mission of the Calvary Women’s Book Club is to bring together all the women of Calvary Episcopal Church whose interests include reading and reviewing books, for the purpose of Christian fellowship and spiritual enrichment. A wide variety of books are brought to the group by individual members and these books provide the basis for monthly discussions, reflections, and new insights in an atmosphere of mutual trust and acceptance. A covered dish meal precedes the discussion and is an important part of the gathering. The evening concludes with prayer, bringing a sense of bonding and peace as we each go our separate ways to meet the challenges of life.

Although our Mission Statement proclaims that we are members of Calvary Episcopal Church, we actively seek to include others from the community who are interested. We continue to meet in the Parish hall the first Sunday of each month at 6:00 PM. Occasional shifts in the schedule are made to accommodate holidays. This year’s service projects were to contribute to the Angel Tree Christmas gifts organized by Deacon Diane and to collect donating tote bags and children’s books for DFCS children.
