Our Parish Life Committee plans and organizes events such as luncheons, receptions, and other special occasions that involve not only our parish community but our community beyond the church property. We began 2016 planning the reception for The Celebration of a New Ministry, and near the end of the year, we planned and hosted a two day arts event—Calvary’s Art Show and Sale and our first-ever Chalk Walk. The Art Show and Chalk Walk brought over 50 visitors to Calvary, and raised over $1,300 to donate to our local food bank, Harvest of Hope. Throughout the rest of the year, events we planned included a reception for the Bishop and confirmands in March, meals for vacation Bible school and Wednesday’s Body & Soul and Advent suppers, breakfast for the Sunday school’s Rally Day, a reception for Fr. Gunn’s memorial service, and several Sunday covered-dish luncheons.

The committee will continue to plan monthly luncheons, when other special events are not planned. Typically, luncheons are not planned months such as January, when we have Boar’s Head, or when we have to plan a big reception, such as one for the Bishop’s visit. We are always open for new ideas and new members!
